Lesson 6 - Homework

- Describe the six lines of the Hexagram and the division between the lower and upper trigrams

1st line- it is about introspection, it is the foundation of the hexagram; very introverted people, too busy with their own process and they don’t even see you
2nd line – it is the hermit; these people are not aware that others can see them, they are the ‘naturals’ and are very transparent people
3rd line – it is about trial and error; they interact with other people but are still very internalizing, things bump into them
4th line – it is about externalization; they are the opportunist, they want to see people because they want to give them something
5th line – it is about projection, getting it out there to as many people as possible.
6th line – it is the role model, they have the all picture of the hexagram, they are the ultimate role model and can give good advise (after they recognise their mistakes and see how much they have learnt)

The lower trigram is introspective, concentrated in themselves and in a gate, for example, they do not know that there is a gate on the other end of the channel. The other three, upper trigram, are aware of the gate on the other end of the channel, they see what is out there.

- Pure Sacral Generator 34/10, 5/15

Someone that always follows his own convictions no matter how senseless they may seem and he also lives in the flow, pulling everyone else he meets into his own natural rhythm. This is a very magnetic person.

- Splenic Projector 61/24, 7/31, 32/54

This person is a great thinker and his mind is capable of inspiring someone else to see life in a totally new light and he is a leader, for good and bad, and he is here to lead us into the future after having been picked out of a crowd. And because he is so driven, he has the capacity and drive to attain any distant goal.

- Emotional Manifesting Generator 59/6, 12/22, 2/14

Someone who is designed to be the keeper of the keys, and because he has the power and ability to always follow his own direction in life, he is the way shower to others what is helped by being a social being so he is here to have an impact on others through his unique emotional expression. He also haa genetic need to create some form of live: babies, birthing project or creative process.

- Ego Manifestor 21/45, 25/51, 57/20

This person has a design of a materialistic and he is here to master the material plane, making money through the power of his will, and he is also very competitive and has a need of being first. He also has the ability to maintain or change the values of people in the community around him.

Joanne's Lesson 6: Hexagram Structure

Describe the six lines of the Hexagram and the division between the lower and upper trigrams.

Any of the six lines of a hexagram can be broken or solid. There are 64 possible combinations of broken and solid lines making up the hexagram. The lines are numbered from bottom (line 1) to top (line 6). Each of the six lines in a hexagram has a keynote:
1st Line: Introspection (foundation)
2nd Line: Creativity (the “natural”)
3rd Line: Trial and Error
4th Line: Externalization
5th Line: Projection
6th Line: Transition
The hexagram can be divided into two sets of three lines each, called trigrams. The lower trigram has to do with the internal, personal process, and the upper trigram has to do with the external process. Also, the 1st, 3rd, and 5th lines of a hexagram represent receptive energies, while the 2nd, 4th and 6th lines represent creative energies. In addition, there are harmonic relationships between lines 1 and 4, 2 and 5, and 3 and 6.

Sentence one: Pure Sacral Generator 34/10, 5/15
This person works at sharing his/her rhythm with others and empowering them to follow their own convictions.
One who is in the flow of following one’s own convictions

Sentence two: Spleenic Projector 61/24, 7/31, 32/54
This person is a secure, chosen leader whose drive to transform through thoughts inspires others.
A thinker who is driven to lead
A leader who is driven to think

Sentence three: Emotional Manifesting Generator 59/6, 12/22, 2/14
According to his/her emotional wave, this person expresses him/herself through deeply penetrating the auras of others to show them the way.
A social keeper of the keys focused on reproduction

Sentence four: Ego Manifestor 21/45, 25/51, 57/20
This person has a strong intuition and a need to be among the first of his/her group to succeed on the material plane.
A materialistic, penetrating awareness that needs to be first

Example of sentence given in lesson 6

18/58 channel of Judgement, design of insatiability
12/22 channel of Openness, design of a social being
13/33 channel of the Prodigal, design of a witness
46/29 channel of Discovery, a design of succeeding where others fail

Instatiable social witness that fails or succeeds.

A witness that discovers they are socially instatiable.

A witness that discovers they are a failing social being because of their instatiable appetite to judge others and share that.

Lesson 5 - homework

- Write about one of the tribal channels, and give a brief description of the tribal circuit

The tribal circuit is about support and having. This can be a very possessive circuit and people with this circuit what they care about is what kind of support the relationship has. This is the most intimate of all circuits in terms of senses, and the most important is the smell – metaphorically they can trust anything unless they can smell it. The most important aspects of this circuit is that it is about making deals that guarantee support.

There are two circuits in the tribal circuit:
- Ego Circuit: it is about building community and making money
- Defence Circuit: it is about making and raising children

Channel 59/6 – the channel of mating
This channel links the Sacral Centre (gate 59) to the Emotional Centre (gate 6) and has a design focused on reproduction, and reproduction is the fundamental genetic drive in humans. This channel is about conceiving and supporting a child. People with this channel have a very powerful auric field that penetrates people deeply which means that they have the ability to become intimate with anyone because they can break barriers very quickly and the result of that can be very creative (business venture, social interaction, artistic result).

- Do you understand where the keynote Support comes from

The keynote Support comes from the tribal circuit group that is all about creating and supporting human life. The two tribal circuits are all about creating and maintaining the tribe by laws, work, deciding who is allowed and o who is not in the tribe, making sure they have enough money, enough food, enough affection.. It is all about supporting the genetic continuity of the tribe.

Write about one of the tribal channels, and give a brief description of the tribal circuit.

The 37/40 is the Channel of Community. It is a projected channel commonly found in bodygraphs, and it tends to show up as a part of the design (in red, the unconscious). This channel provides a foundation for the community in terms of establishing fairness and harmony. People with the 37/40 need to have physical interaction with their associates. They seek to determine how they fit into the community and into larger scheme of life.
The Tribal circuit has both capitalistic (26/44) and communistic (37/40) aspects. The 26th gate works for tangible rewards outside of the community like money, and the 40th gate works for intangible payoffs within the community (affection, togetherness, love, respect, and support). For people with the 37/40, the bargaining tools for holding the community together have nothing to do with financial gain. These people need recognition through family or community (37th gate) as well as a balance of work and rest (40th gate).

Do you understand where the keynote Support comes from?

The keynote Support comes from the Tribal circuit. Tribal circuitry is about making sure that the resources are present to perpetuate life of the tribe. Support for the tribe as a whole is provided as members of the tribe are expected to conform to the tribe’s rules. An agreement is required by the tribe; strings are attached. In exchange for their willingness to conform, the members of the tribe get support and the terms to foster a feeling of belonging. Support in this sense is conditional. Individuality is strongly discouraged within the tribe. Outsiders wishing to be included in the tribe must be rigorously evaluated through the tribe’s use of touch and smell; if the outsider doesn’t feel or smell ‘right’ s/he will not be allowed to join that tribe. A downside of Tribal-mindedness is that it can provide support for discrimination. The tribe is where the ‘isms’ originate (i.e., racism, sexism, etc.). Rodney King’s plaintive, “Can’t we all just get along?” after he was beaten by policemen in Los Angeles was a question for the tribe. The Montagues and Capulets in Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” and the Hatfields vs. the McCoys of American folklore depict narrow tribalism taken too far and the loss of life as a result, either in the name of the tribe or as a punishment for breaking the tribe’s rules. A positive aspect of tribalism is that it can offer a basic structure for thought and behavior for those who need this structure or are in search of it. The tribe can provide an emotional tether for its members.

The Understanding and Sensing circuits are both part of the Collective so can you name some of the differences between them?

The Understanding Circuit:
is logical
is ruled by splenic awareness
is forward-looking
has as its purpose the passing of knowledge of patterns to others to benefit the Collective
has no motor to the throat
has format energy (9/52) about being focused and concentrated
reads patterns and trends of the future
has a non-emotional perspective
can be summed up as follows -- repetition leads to mastery and verification of pattern

The Sensing Circuit:
is abstract
is ruled by the emotional wave (solar plexus)
is reflecting on the past
has as its purpose the experience itself
has a motor to the throat
has format energy (42/53) about beginnings and endings
can be a growing repository of wisdom and experience
has an emotional perspective of hope and pain
can be summed up as follows -- clarity only comes over time; the pattern is revealed in retrospect

Also, what do you understand about the keynote of sharing and how does it differ from the keynote of empowerment which belongs to the individual circuitry?

Sharing is not about sharing with others in a manner of being generous with material goods or services, or even solicited advice. It is more about sharing information that the other may not want to know. Sharing in this sense prompts the offering of unsolicited advice. Because sharing has an impact on the collective, sharing directly affects and involves the other. For example, if someone with a Sharing keynote tells the other, without having been asked, that the other should behave in a certain way, the other is involved in the teller’s process as the other receives that shared information. In contrast, the keynote of empowerment results in mutation; empowerment guarantees the survival of the species by generating constant change. Also, empowerment has an effect on the other without necessarily involving the other directly. As an example, a person with an Empowerment keynote may act in an unusual way that gets attention from the other simply because the action is so unique. The other is only involved in a peripheral way, as a witness, even if the other is then inspired to do some similar activity that ends up perpetuating mutation. If the other doesn’t want to take action based on the example of the empowered, they don’t have to as an individual, although someone in the community will be inspired to take some action, guaranteeing continued evolution. The empowerment has more to do with the individual, not with the collective.

ABC- homework lesson 4

Differences between Understanding and Sensing circuit

- The understanding circuit is about patterns, about being focused in order to understand the patterns of life while the sensing circuit is about experiencing in order to learn
- The understanding circuit is about sharing the logical process and the sensing circuit is about sharing the abstract process.
- The understanding is about projecting the patterns into the future while the sensing is about learning from the past
- The understanding has the purpose of understanding the patterns in order to lead while the sensing has no purpose other than experience itself
- The understanding circuit has the spleen, and therefore the awareness of the now, instincts, while the sensing circuit is centered around the solar plexus which requires experience to be able to grow emotionally

Sharing keynote and how it differs from the Empowerment keynote

- The keynote of the collective circuit is sharing, but sharing in a total impersonal way, it is not about sharing with somebody in particular but about sharing for the sake of it, it is about sharing indiscriminately and this makes them social beings, in a certain way (not personal)
- The keynote of the individual circuit is empowerment of others, it is about mutation, about being an example by being themselves, and this means that this people are potentially freaks and outsiders and they do not fit in to society easily. This is a personal process.

Homework 3

List as many keynotes as you can remember with regard to Individual Circuitry. The master keynote for the Individual Circuit Group is empowerment. Its two circuits, the Knowing and Centering Circuits, also have the keynotes of empowerment.

Also look at the examples below and try and put together sentences that describe the design. Use words that relate to type and the overall keynote of empowerment, authority, centres, strategy, unconscious and conscious.

a Generator who has the channel 2-14 (red) and 39-55 (black) With the Sacral connected to the G, the person respond through their identity. The ‘tantric’ channels (one of which is the 2-14) 2-14 act as a conduit for the life force of the sacral to empower the identity (Rudd, LYD, p. 93). The design includes the unconscious potential to empower the direction of others (red 2-14) and the conscious awareness of moodiness (black 39-55). With Sacral authority, they need to wait to respond.

a Manifestor who has the 12-22 (black) and the 38-28 (red) The design of consciously needing to be in the mood before doing anything or it will backfire on them and the unconscious struggle to find meaning in life. With Emotional authority (i.e., defined Solar Plexus), they should wait out the emotional wave before making a decision (Rudd, LYD, p. 167).

a Projector who has the 61-24 (red) and the 57-20 (black) The design includes the unconscious sense that if the person thinks about something enough, he or she will find the truth in it, and consciousness of pure intuition that can speak (black 57-20). With Splenic authority (i.e., defined Spleen), they can feel free to follow their spontaneous instinct without hesitation (Rudd, LYD, p. 167).

Notice how different the description would be if the red and black were reversed:
2-14 black 39-55 red Not aware of his moodiness and aware of the ability to empower the direction of others
12-22 red 38-28 black not aware of needing to be in the mood before doing anything and aware of struggling to find meaning in life
61-24 black 57-20 red aware of thinking about things for a long time to find meaning in what they’re thinking about and unaware of the fact that they have intuition that can speak

Between us we have the 43/23, 8/1, so that just leaves the 3/60 and as we know it is only a generator that can have that whole channel. Pulse, don't forget the on/off and melancholy in the circuit. The whole Individual circuit is melancholic, but it is the sadness of poetry or music. Anyone with individual circuitry needs to learn to use these moody times to be creative, to let the MUSE flow through them.

ABC – homework lesson 3

- Keynotes for Individual Circuitry

2-14: design of being keeper of the keys, empower directions of others
28-38: design of stubbornness, design of finding meaning in life, seeking fulfilment through purpose
61-24: design of a thinker, mental knowing
12-22: design of a social being, openness, empowerment mutation in others
8-1: design of being a creative role model, channel of inspiration to any one who needs
43-23: design of individuality, genius to a freak, empower others structurally (ability of the knower)
3-60: design of energy which initiates and fluctuates, mutation about creating a change
39-55: design of moodiness, channel of stimulation
20-57: design of penetrating awareness, the voice of intuition

- Generator with channel 2-14 (red) and 39-55 (black)
This person is probably seen by others has a very moody person because he has the channel 39-55 defined in his personality, which is the channel that most represents the moodiness and melancholy of the Individual Circuitry. He is probably aware of that since this is part of his Personality. This channel is also about uncertainty so he must follow his strategy to learn the art of timing, when to do, when to speak, etc. It is also important that he doesn’t look for the reasons for the mood since most times there isn’t any.
In his Design, he has channel 2-14, and therefore he his probably not conscious about it, and this channel means that he empowers the directions of others, he is the keeper of the keys and he shows the way to other people. If he doesn’t follow his strategy and authority he can become very melancholic about things because he feels that they don’t move fast enough. This channel, that connects two powerful centres, the Sacral and G Centre, is also one of the Tantric Channels that potentially transform Sacral, Sex and Life Force Energy into an expression of Higher Self through Love.

- Manifestor with channel 12-22 (black) and 38-28 (red)
A Manisfestor with channel 12-22 has part of his Personality has conscious that he can always express his emotions, even if communication is not a strong aspect of Individual Circuitry, the gate 22 has the potential magic of communication. This is the channel of a social being, not related with friendship but with mutation by entering a social situation when they are up in the wave and get the attention of the others, giving them a chance to mutate. It is always about empowering mutation in others. But they have to follow the strategy and authority preventing them for speaking at the wrong moment otherwise there can be lot of anger or fear because others are watching them.
By having channel 38-28 at his Design, he is not conscious of the need he has to find meaning in life, no matter how much he struggles to find it. This is the channel of stubbornness and he has to struggle to show his value so it is very important to follow the strategy and authority, wait out the wave. And by being a projected channel, if there is no invitation he can be very frustrated and bitter.

- Projector with channel 61-24 (red) and 57-20 (black)
A Projector with channel 61-24 at his Design is probably not aware that he is always trying to find reasons for everything and having recurring thoughts, but if he follows his strategy, waiting to be invited, this can be very empowering because he can bring the unknowable into the world and can inspire others to think about life’s mysteries. Because it is in his unconscious design he is not aware of the need for silence and that he has a very melancholic mind and inspiration comes suddenly and unexpectedly.
By having the channel 20/57 in the Personality means that he is probably aware that he is a very intuitive person, because this is the voice of intuition that can speak. This is very important because he can empower others to be intelligent. This person is very focused in intelligence and should listen to his instinct in the moment, but no matter how quickly he can intuit an answer he still must wait to be invited to release his wisdom.

**Lesson 3 - A third line day - Accoustics & Outsiders**

Lesson 3 took place on a third line day. It is a great example of the third line theme of the Hexagram. The theme of trial and error and bonds made and broken. Firstly Gennaro wasn't there (bonds made and broken, he left us) and then there was the issue of recording, a trial and error issue, because I had no idea where the file would be saved or if it would save at all.

The third line is in the middle of the hexagram and like the forth line is unstable. So as much as we haven't studied the hexagram structure this seemed like a good introduction to the subject and a practical example.

So, what to do for homework?

List as many keynotes as you can remember with regard to Individual Circuitry.

Also look at the examples below and try and put together sentences that describe the design. Use words that relate to type and the overall keynote of empowerment, authority, centres, strategy, unconscious and conscious.

a Generator who has the channel 2-14 (red) and 39-55 (black)
a Manifestor who has the 12-22 (black) and the 38-28 (red)
a Projector who has the 61-24 (red) and the 57-20 (black)

Notice how different the description would be if the red and black were reversed:
2-14 black 39-55 red
12-22 red 38-28 black
61-24 black 57-20 red

Between us we have the 43/23, 8/1, so that just leaves the 3/60 and as we know it is only a generator that can have that whole channel. Pulse, don't forget the on/off and melancholy in the circuit.

If you meet up on Sunday you could practice and discuss these together.
For the Manifestor becareful not to confuse manifesting and projected aspects. One saying that is frequently used is 'correct allies' instead of wait to be invited.

Homework on Integration Channels

The Channel of Awakening, 20/10, is a Design of Commitment to Higher Principles (Rudd, Circuitry, p. 20). This is a channel of the expression of self-love and self-acceptance. People with this channel need to wait to be invited to express themselves.
The Channel of Perfected Form, 10/57, is a Design of Survival (of the Individual) (Rudd, Circuity, p. 26). This is a channel of the creation of beauty; the art of survival. People with this channel can think on their feet. They need to manifest beauty in their lives.
The Channel of Charisma, 20/34, is a Design where Thoughts must become Deeds (Rudd, Circuitry, p. 22). This is a channel of being constantly busy. It is healthy for people with this defined channel to be busy doing something that they love. This empowers others with their charisma.
The Channel of Power, 57/34, is a Design of an Archetype (of true Power) (Rudd, Circuitry, p. 24). This is a channel of intuition that is always at work. It represents what it means to truly be a human being. People who have this channel can become archetypes of true power once they learn to trust their intuitive awareness.

Self-empowerment is the super keynote to Integration. The Integration channels represent the survival instinct of the individual. The channels are the foundation of biodiversity, allowing for the continuation of the species. People with definition in the Integration channels are here to put themselves first as a way of showing self-love and self-concern above concern for the tribe or for other individuals.

One thing that I would tell a client who had one, two, three, or four of the integration channels is that they should be encouraged to live out their design without guilt about being called selfish. They are designed to ensure their individual survival, thus ensuring our survival as a species. The integration channels are about self-empowerment. By their actions, they empower others.

The centers involved in Integration are the Splenic, Throat, Sacral, and G Centres. Their functions are as follows:
Splenic – to provide the capacity for spontaneous judgment of what is correct or not (Rudd, Living Your Design, p. 100)
Throat – to provide a voice or a center for manifestation and metamorphosis (Rudd, Living Your Design, p. 69)
Sacral – to provide a vital response; to function as an empowerment field for life itself (Rudd, Living Your Design, pp. 89-90)
G Centre – to provide direction in life (Rudd, Living Your Design, p. 149)

Channel 28/38 makes the integration channel less selfish. It allows for someone with Integration channels (with the 34/57 specifically) to share how they survived.

Integration Channels

http://www3.telus.net/public/craigma1/Copy%20of%20Integration%20Channels

Or in regular prose:

Channel 20/10: The Channel of Awakening - a design of commitment to higher principles. Through their words and actions, people with this channel express their self-love and self-acceptance.

Channel 10/57: The Chanel of Perfected Form - a design of survival. People with this channel are strongly inclined to perfect some aspect of their form, possibly physically, intellectually, or through their work in the world.

Channel 20/34: The Chanel of Charisma - a design where thoughts must become deeds. Whenever people with this channel are engaged in something that they love through response, they attract others who become inspired to find their own engaging loves through response as well. This is the primary manifesting generator channel and is the channel of 'busy-ness'.

Channel 57/34: The Channel of Power - a design of an archetype. Being a direct connection from the splenic center to the sacral center, people with this channel defined are always on guard to ensure their survival. People with this channel defined are acutely sensitive to vibration and sound.

Master keynote for the Integration Channels:
Self Empowerment: This is entirely about survival of the individual and is the foundation for the survival of the human species. If individuals do not survive, then the species dies out.

For clients with some or all of the integration channels defined, it would be worthwhile to point out that other people might view some or many of their actions as 'selfish' or 'self-centered' but that this very selfishness is the basis for human survival as there is no ability to help one another if individuals themselves cannot survive.

The centers involved in the integration channels are:
Throat: center of communication, action, and manifestation. All other centers seek to connect to the throat center in order to share, understand, know, or manifest.
G: center of love and direction in life; the seat of the magnetic monopole which holds us together to produce the whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.
Splenic: center of awareness in the now, the immune system; the foundation of instinct, intelligence, and intuition for survival.
Sacral: the foundation center for life: living and dying, sexuality and reproduction; the very source of our life energy or 'chi'.

The gates and channel which change the nature of the integration channels are the 28 and 38 - The Channel of Struggle: a design of stubbornness. This channel brings out the understanding of what is worth fighting for in order to survive.

H/wk lesson 2 - integration channels

1) Four integration channels:

- Channel of awakening 20/10 is a design of commitment to higher principles, but this to happen someone else has to recognise it. These people empower others without the need to know how, just by being and loving themselves

Some information to include in the intro to a reading

When giving an introduction to a reading, several items of information should be included. It is important to verify the birth information with the client, letting him or her know that the birth information that they gave us was used to calculate a chart, called a bodygraph. The calculation shown in black was made using the birth information and it represents the personality, which is the conscious aspect; who they think they are. The red calculation is based on the position of the sun approximately three months before birth, and it gives their unconscious; aspects of their personality that others see but that they may be aware of only in retrospect. The bodygraph allows us to have a look at their own uniqueness.

introduction - ABC lesson 1 - homework

I would like to ask you to confirm the details you gave me: date, time and place of birth.
The Human Design is a reading of your genetic code, it is a logical map and to do that I created two charts and I will explain what they mean.
The chart in black is your personality that represents your conscious, who you think you are and it is determined by the angle of the planets when you were born. The chart in red is your design and represents your unconscious, who you really are but you are not aware of it, or sometimes people tell you are but you don’t agree with them, and this is determined by the angles of the planets about 3 months before you were born, 88 or 89 days before you were born.
The figures are the planets and the numbers are the gates defined accordingly to the I Ching, the Chinese book of wisdom. To give you a brief explanation of the knowledge and information behind the Human Design, it is based in I Ching, Astrology, Kabala, quantum physics, chakras and others.
The Human Design is not about making promises or guarantees. It is about knowing and being your self. The purpose is to show your uniqueness. And the moment you live out your nature that is the moment you get what is correct for you. The all learning takes 7 years, that’s how long it takes to change all your cells in your body. So I am going to start with your reading and at the end if you have any questions be free to ask.

5 Sentences on the Introduction

Human Design is a subset of a body of knowledge known as the design of forms. Human Design is a synthesis of many ancient traditions and modern sciences, such as I Ching, genetics, the Kabala, religion, astrology, mysticism, psychology, chakras, physics, spiritually, biology, and evolution. As a synthesis, it is more than the sum of its parts, unveiling genetic types or roles with corresponding strategies and individual authority for making decisions that are proper for correct mechanical operation of the individual's life. At the core of this synthesis is the bodygraph. The bodygraph exposes, for the first time, the interaction of the conscious and unconscious aspects of an individual and provides a stepping stone to understanding the individual's relation to other people and the greater world at large.

Just to reinforce Idalina's previous post, the four centers that are motors are: solar plexus, sacral, heart/ego, and root.
