A friend of mine has the 62/17 while I have the 11/56. It is true that there are times when we seem to be from different galaxies. We've been friends since childhood, so it's been interesting to see how this tendency has increased as we have grown older. When we were young kids, we were far less "defined" within these channels. All of this gives rise to questions: Will a child's human design patterns emerge slowly, or will certain channels, such as mental ones, develop more slowly while others, more quickly? Also, Human Design poses that someone with the collective channel 62/17 tends to place their values on everyone else and offers solutions to other people's problems from their own context rather than from that of the "other". What if a person with this channel also has a tribal channel which gives her the perspective of truly being interested in the "other", will this temper her abilities to offer advice and allow her the choice of facilitating change in others by empathizing with them? Because we are here to learn, I am going to offer my own observations, though I remain curious as to what others with experience might think: My sense is that there is a choice, that while there may be conflict between the pull of tribal and collective, that this can be resolved through self awareness, and possibly that one can use one ability to enhance the other. At the same time, it would seem that it would depend on which circuit.
